Today started early with a doctor's phone visit, after which I walked into Davis Square to pick up a couple of prescriptions from the pharmacy, on the theory that if I can get my environmental allergies under control, maybe my respiratory system will stop trying to kill me with or without assistance from the federal government. It was beautifully sunny, which meant that the bike path was suddenly packed. I walked back via Highland, where M.F. spatch and hot and sweet Italian sausages for my parents, as requested, for some future date when I can see them again.
I still feel weird and twitchy and downbeat, but I have discovered that TCM is showing the gloriously nuts pre-Code Million Dollar Legs (1932) tonight and I am going to watch it. Just thinking about Lyda Roberti's musical number makes me smile.

It's a good street for walking. I understand that physical distancing will get harder the more people want to get outside, but I hope it can still be done.

We turned the sausage into a deeply inauthentic but also deeply delicious stroganoff.

Since I posted it, Autolycus has displaced my computer to climb onto my lap! He is himself, which is a good cat.
And yay for good takeout.
They are our local butcher shop and I am so glad they are staying open, both in the sense of availability and in the sense of not permanently closing, as I generally worry with neighborhood restaurants etc. to begin with!
