Although it was a splendid finish to a somewhat stressful day, I cannot at this precise moment write about the B-movie I just got back from seeing with skygiants because I got up very early this morning for medical foofaraw and must get to bed before tomorrow's extra-long rehearsal, so in lieu of other cinematic content here is a photo from 1928 of Ramón Novarro in a T-shirt that spatch found on Twitter:

I believe you! I have never seen any form of Speed Racer. I thought he looked like the modeling aesthetic most of the twentieth century was trying to grow up to be.

I don't think it's a bathing suit; they were sleeveless by the 1910's. And you can just see the top of the pants he's wearing at the bottom of the photo, so it's not a one-piece. Also the hems (cuffs?) of the short sleeves appear to be ribbed.
