Call them down, the ones who came before

Boston-area people! This is a signal boost on behalf of Marie Brennan, who will be reading from her latest novel (Turning Darkness into Light) tomorrow at 7 pm at Pandemonium Books & Games.

Come and ask her questions about dragons and clay tablets! Probably don't ask her to sign your copy in cuneiform or she'll never let me do publicity for her again! It's an author event for an excellent author and you should be there.

*wist* I have such envy of people who live in cities where sf/f readings happen. I hope it goes well!

Ooooh. If I could make it into Cambridge tomorrow, I would be there like a shot. This whole living halfway to Rhode Island things has its downsides.

I hope it's awesome!

Well, we haven't yet, but I imagine we could find out.

Very belated, but thank you!

Ahahahah. Now I'm wishing somebody had. Admittedly I would have just made up some random chicken scratches, but I could do that.

(Though . . . there's somebody who is, as a fan-art undertaking, actually inventing the Draconean writing system. She's been sending me progress updates. Now I feel like I should make use of this.)

I hope it went well.

It did! I think I personally knew almost everyone there (having leveraged every connection I've got in Boston), but I'd rather read to a decent-sized audience of mostly friends than a small audience composed entirely of strangers. There was definitely one person, though, whose name I did not get, who said she'd come specifically because she saw you mention it.
