Every second counts in a matter of life

We roasted the chicken in quarters over carrots, apricots, and small potatoes with orange and rosemary; we had last-minute challah served on the boards that my brother and I decorated in elementary school; my niece was very proud of making the roux for the spinach. We had honeycake and macaroons and clementines and apples and honey. Here we are again to see this season, still. The gates are open and the book is still in the writing. A sweet year, please, a joyous and a just one. L'shanah tovah, all.
