That's because you've been working
I am returned from singing in the 29th First Annual Ig Nobel Prize Ceremony. I had a wonderful time. You can watch the webcast! I am tragically not on camera at least one of the times I was shouting at the accordion player, but you can watch me know-it-all to the music of Bach just fine. I have glasses and a frequently aghast expression.
Tomorrow I get up early to help with childcare and in the evening attend the opening of The Revenger's Tragedy; Saturday I start rehearsing in Yiddish again; right now I'm going to collapse. My ears are still ringing because the chorus applauded with its clickers for the bows. It was like receiving a surprise MRI.
I enjoy very much being onstage. It used to be a staple feature of my life and now it is an intermittent opportunity. I should find out how to change that.
An auditorium full of funny science and paper airplanes seems a good place to start.

Thank you! I'm just waiting for the adrenaline to wear off so that I crash.

Thank you! I didn't realize you'd never seen me perform before. It was fun to sing.
And I'm glad you're involved with Igs! Igs folks are your kind of people.
I like all the ones I've met so far!
I'm glad you were there.

Thank you!
I have deeply fond memories of being in the Igs. Maybe I'll ask Marc about coming back for the 30th First.
I think you should; it would be fun.

Thank you! I think so, too. It wasn't something I didn't know I was missing, but it was something I thought was no longer possible-feasible, and now that seems not to be the case.

Likely see you at "Revenger's Tragedy" tomorrow evening, I hope -- I'm making a snap decision to go then.

Thank you! I was on a stage full of infuriating people! I did not count myself among them, of course.

That's an amazing and terrible image :)
Someday I'll make it to the ignobels! Or manage to network my way into being part of them...

Thank you. It was loud!

You should! You are kind of the target demographic. The band was at least two-thirds scientists.

I was invited in originally by a friend who is involved, so I suspect the answer is "I e-mail relevant people and tell them you're awesome."
. . . Do I actually know what you do in terms of science awesomeness? I have a much better idea when it comes to music.

It really was!

Congratulations--this sounds lovely. The amount of wonderful stuff you do, in spite of everything, inspires and impresses me. Looking forward to watching the webcast!
(Now collapse deeply and restoratively please!)

In the spirit of the prize itself!
(SO LOUD.)

Thank you! Enjoy! There's so much in the ceremony.

(I did my best. I am now into the childcare part of the day.)

Fortunately, I have never been frightened of clowns, not even as a small child, and am therefore perhaps uniquely qualified for the uncertainty of my living situation.

Thank you! I had a great time at The Revenger's Tragedy; I had read it and seen the film by Alex Cox, but never managed to catch it staged before, and I really liked this take.
