A million moments landing
I got up early for a doctor's appointment. It went fine.
After that I spent just about the next five hours talking with Marc Abrahams, mostly while sitting on a low wall of Copp's Hill Burying Ground. We had cider slushes from the Boston Public Market and pastries which I can now distinguish (I thought lobster tail was just the English name for sfogliatelle; it is not) from Maria's Pastry Shop and we did not bond solely over Million Dollar Legs (1932), but I was not expecting to meet another person who had seen it. I made a passionate case for Wheeler and Woolsey and about fifteen other things. It was great.
I got home and two packages were waiting for me. One was a signed copy of Craig Laurance Gidney's A Spectral Hue (2019) and the other was a gift from
yhlee from Dublin, chosen with help from
hamletta: a watch on a chain, its case shaped like a scallop shell. I think it may be intended as a necklace, but I will pocket-watch it if I get the chance.
I appear to own exactly one kerchief and an apartment with no good backgrounds and the natural light values of butt, but
coraline gave me a fancy vest, so.

Thank you! (The vest does not have pockets—I'm trying to figure out if I can make the watch work anyway.)
