This afternoon in rydra_wong's comments, kore was attempting to describe the Lovecraftian decor of the Christmas White House: "Other highlights include a scary wreath made out of sharpened pencils that looks like you could take out people's eyes with it and an all-white representation of the White House in gingerbread that looks exactly like it's about to be drenched with blood."

Suddenly all I could hear was Richard Burton:

I'm sorry; it's Richard Burton as in the actor. My brain mashed up the musical Camelot and L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time.

I'm glad the trains worked! I am currently on one, and thus succeeding in getting to Boston, but not so much succeeding at getting sleep.
