And the fascists have the outfits, but I don't care for the outfits
So I have caught the first cold of the changing season and it immediately messed one of my ears right up, but I have a hot compress and a lot of orange juice and
selkie just pointed me toward Cassandra Khaw saying wonderful things about my collection and that's done a lot to improve my afternoon. I am honored to be compared to Robert MacFarlane. Khaw's neo-Lovecraftian neo-noir Hammers on Bone (2016) is no slouch itself.
rydra_wong has been describing the latest political developments as a ghost garden of Watergate. I like this image and hope it produces the correct effect on the landscape.
I still haven't forgiven TCM for pulling Hotel Berlin (1945) out of the buffer when I was nine minutes into it, but I have just realized that I have once again in my life a couch I can lie on and watch movies, so my hot compress and I are going to do that.

Gladly accepted. The tea supplies in this household are actually disastrously low.
Great to see CCassandra Khaw bigging Sleepless Shores.
I was not expecting it and I am really flattered. I mean it about Hammers on Bone, too. It has a great staccato prose rhythm and a sense of humor about how hard-boiled it is, until the horror outweighs the humor and the hard-boiling both.
If it's also a help, I managed to get a review up on Amazon UK
Thank you so much! I don't see how it can hurt. The more reviews, the better.

I'm sorry about the cold and the ear problem. I hope you find something good to watch. (Is Performance on FilmStruck?)

I kind of want to know if it's appropriate to reproduce (with permission, obviously) someone's tweet as a blurb.

Thank you. I just watched Lilly Turner (1933), which was definitely a melodrama rather than a movie I would recommend to anyone, but it is always worth seeing what the pre-Code era came up with.
(Is Performance on FilmStruck?)
Alas, no! But there's a bundle of Gregg Toland cinematography that looks promising.

More cheerfully, did you see this Roman Swiss Army knife? https://twitter.com/artinsociety/status/1040479394802761729

I really feel I could just have gotten a starter cold this early in the season, you know? Low-grade fever, mild sore throat, forty-eight hours at most. What would it have hurt?
More cheerfully, did you see this Roman Swiss Army knife?
No! That's amazing. Look, someone got to publish an article entitled "Roman folding spoons."
