One thing that becomes an interesting device is how many episodes are structured around the story of a ballet --
Giselle
,
Copellia
, and, finally,
Swan Lake
. The DVD extras include a short explanation of the major musical themes for each episode.
So far I think we've only seen
Giselle
, although that one would have been hard to miss; if you didn't recognize the plot, the characters explicitly identified it. (
Coppélia
scared the living bejeezus out of me as a child. Thanks a lot, Hoffmann.) I knew I should be more familiar with ballet.
One more month till the final DVD comes out -- one more month.
How many episodes are there in total?
