(I have a feeling that must have been the version of A Little Princess that I tried to watch with my sisters once, when I was an obnoxious teen and couldn't refrain from at least pointing out every change from the book. You will be glad to hear that my Little Sis (who must have been about 12), who is generally one of the sweetest-natured souls I know, stood up and demanded I left the room and let her enjoy it in peace. So, I did. And have tried to be more reasonable since!
I should watch it again some time. I'm a lot less pedantic about book changes than I used to be!
