We were on the platform at North Station, waiting for the Orange Line to Sullivan. It would have been nice if one of the other people waiting with us had said or done something, but no one did, and there was nothing resembling station security anywhere near. We got away from him because spatch got an arm around me and walked me to the other end of the platform with the guy screaming after me the entire time. I remind myself that the story of Kitty Genovese and the thirty-eight witnesses who watched and did nothing was actually a newspaper myth, but that doesn't mean anyone needs to live down to it.
