I suppose the difference is that I can understand why one might object to Condoleezza Rice, given that she belongs to an administration that makes me wish our government allowed votes of no confidence, whereas articles like this one leave me wondering why so many people open their mouths and leave their brains at the door. Yay, my own biases . . . I just find the objections to Tony Kushner not so much unconvincing as thoroughly strange. To make a Zionist issue out of a playwright's honorary degree strikes me as an overreaction, at the very least.
