Up until an hour or so ago I was convinced he'd been Jeremy Brett's Moriarty, but of course that's Eric Porter.
He probably would have made a perfectly good Moriarty, but to my knowledge he never did. I spent some time looking for a good shot of him as Colpeper, but most of them were screencaps rather than production stills; I finally got this portrait off the oldest and best Powell and Pressburger fansite.
That doesn't even show off his best angles.
The BFI is screening a 35 mm print of A Canterbury Tale in May, if you really want to see it in a theater. (I would.) I disagree politely but firmly with their assessment of Sergeant John Sweet's charisma, though.
