I don't feel attacked; I can distinguish between "this didn't work for me" and "you are bad and you should feel bad." I'm always curious about reasons that people like things that I didn't and vice versa.
But I would not have made her walk up and down those stairs over and over--I cringed every time and was completely impressed that she managed to talk while doing it.
The night we were there, rushthatspeaks noticed that part of her floating train actually snagged on the wrought iron and toreāand she just kept walking, queenly, not even acknowledging it had happened. Which is the best way to handle it, but agreed that it's ideal if you don't have to handle it at all.
Alternately, I would have picked a different idiom of the 80's--maybe pastels, or a shoulder-padded suit--to bring her into the world while holding her apart.
You'd just have to be really careful to avoid inadvertent Margaret Thatcher. (As I say that I can see someone deciding to go for the She-Wolf/Iron Lady equation, but I think it would change the play.)
We were in the 2nd row. As long as the actors were standing up on the catwalk, it was fine, but there were a couple of times that actors were speaking while crouched up there and completely disappeared behind the beam.

Yeah, that would be a problem.
