I am not domestic. I am a luxury, and in that sense, necessary
So for the second night in a row I did not fall asleep until well after sunup and then I was out of commission far too late into the afternoon while still not getting much real sleep at all. When I finally got up, Autolycus had thrown up twice on the floor.
But then I got out of the house. And I met up with
rushthatspeaks. And the entire staff of the T-Mobile store in Central Square thought Fox was adorable and I bought a yuzu cream croissant and durian mochi from H-Mart and we picked up
gaudior from work and my biography of Sessue Hayakawa had come in at Porter Square Books and we made shells and cheese for dinner and Rush-That-Speaks showed me David Ehrlich's 25 best films of 2016 and it was in general a really nice day.
And then I got home and the upstairs neighbors are throwing a literally screaming party and their weed has filled the stairwell and smells like Satan's underarm and Autolycus is still throwing up and I just found out that John Hurt has died.
I'd like to take this evening again from about ten o'clock, thank you.
[edit] All right, as of eleven-thirty, the literally screaming party has decamped for parts unknown (although their weed remains) and Autolycus is no longer actively throwing up. But John Hurt is still dead and I'm not all right with that.

Oh, god. My sympathies. :(
If this happened to me in Australia, I would probably call the police on the anti-social screaming party.
But I guess in the US there's always the risk that the police will shoot someone... :( :(

That's a bad one. Damn. I mean, I know all these idols are getting older and they've had full wonderful lives and made beautiful things and it's just time, but still -- fuck. Damn.

Thank you. It was unreasonable on every front.

The upstairs neighbors are a pair of blond young women, so I feel the chances of shooting are diminished in this case, but it does occasionally worry me about calling the authorities, yes, and that is not the way people who need backup are supposed to feel.
Your icon is excellent.

Thank you! It was refreshing.
And I hope poor Autolycus continues to not throw up.
It's actually the second day of cat-vomiting, so I called the vet. We have an appointment on Tuesday, but can call tomorrow early and see if we can get an emergency appointment if it's still going on. I'm really, really hoping not. He does not seem to be enjoying it.

A-SERIOUSLY-MEN.

This was a bad day to pick and a bad person to lose. And once again, I hadn't known he had cancer. Can we just stop with this refrain?

2017: Hold my beer.

I look forward to the day when we knock that damn beer out of its hand.

Thank you! I'm looking forward to it.

I'm not knocking him for not warning his fans in advance: there are a lot of things I don't talk about until I know how they've settled. I just want cancer to knock it off for a while.

Thank you! Today appears to have been, fingers crossed, vomit-free. I petted Autolycus from you.

I'm not all right with it!

Bloody well not at all.
(I'm glad the party departed, too.)

That and some Shakespearean sonnets were the only tracks I owned with his voice on them, so I played them in his honor.

This was especially not the day.
(I'm glad the party departed, too.)
(Thank you. The neighbors returned around one-thirty and were noisy coming up the stairs with some other people and I almost blew a fuse, but they have quieted back down by now. Which is good, because I want to sleep tonight, not get arrested for suddenly feeling the inspiration to warm up and rehearse, I don't know, the Queen of the Night's second aria out on the second-floor landing.)

He was! And I saw him in so many different things and loved him in all of them, whether his characters were loving or not.

Nuit developed a habit of vomiting regularly and it turned out that she had food allergies. She and all the other cats downstairs now subsist on a diet of duck and green peas (in kibble form, I hasten to add; I know people do cook for their cats, but we do not make them duck and green peas). Possibly Autolycus's vomiting is merely recreational, however.

I don't think I ever saw her in anything, but my mother used to watch Perry Mason. Thank you for letting me know.

They've shown no signs of allergies before, but my mother wondered if something about the formulation of the catfood had changed, since it came on very suddenly after my purchasing a new fat of cans. As of today, though, no further vomiting occurred, so we're hoping it was just a stage they were going through.

Oh, God, I hope not. He already has the hobby of walking across my head in the mornings to see if I've died in the night.
