This sounds like a really good movie and heroism is easier to depict when people look good doing it nailed it.

Thank you! I was prepared for it to be the sententious kind of adaptation, because of wartime Hollywood; it had its teetering moments, but all in all I was impressed.

For obvious reasons, I'm interested in the kinds of heroism where people don't.
