Cleverman's an Australian TV show written/directed/acted/etc mostly by Aboriginal Australian people and it posits that (at least) two facts about Australian folklore are real: the Hairypeople exist and there is a Cleverman to serve as bridge between our world and the Dreaming. It's pretty heavy handed on some issues (the Hairypeople are parked into zones and treated as sub-human, for ex), but I quite like it and S1 is only six episodes, so it's a quick watch.
