Your lines in this are worthy of being read in voiceover. My favorites, in reverse order, are

New York City is played by a sound stage of swirling fog and street signs. (Okay, that's not such a good voiceover one, but it's a great line)

a man who looks over his shoulder even when he's staring resolutely straight ahead.--that's a classic! (And I like the photo you found, incidentally)

a seamy little one-way street of a movie --with a dead end, surely!

And, truly a great line:

drifting down the margins of one more nighttime highway like the albatross of Tom Joad
