Thomas Doherty

Not to be confused with the Founder and Eminence Grise of TOR Books.
You're not missing much--I've skimmed some of his books, and you have more depth of analysis in your LJ posts than he has. He has mastered the academic talent of saying the same thing twenty times over in each book.

I'm not exaggerating. I had a colleague whose book proposal was rejected by a scholarly press because it had too many different ideas. Doherty, on the other hand, has no such problem. It's not that the ideas are bad--they're perfectly fine!--but he takes such a long time about them--unlike your LJ reviews.
