Philadelphia rolls, from the time I first saw them a few years ago, have always struck me as uncomfortably like something that would have been served at a luncheon party in 1956 -- well, except for the nori, but that doesn't help.

Now I'm trying to think of the appropriate mid-century wrapping, but my brain keeps toggling between some kind of vol-au-vent pastry and aspic and I refuse to contemplate the aspic.
