Have you seen the review of Hail, Caesar! on Reel History?

Yes; it's the link in this post with Alex von Tunzelmann's name. I found it right after finishing my writeup. I've been reading Reel History for years.

(I also like An Historian Goes to the Movies which does historical analysis in more depth. That blog hasn't addressed Hail, Caesar! however. I just thought I'd mention it in case it's of interest.)
