perhaps because Robin Hood: PoT was also a hot mess
I still haven't seen it! Just Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993), because I was doing archery at the time and it was unavoidable. Is any of it worth watching besides Rickman? I am just glad that rushthatspeaks and I saw him in Die Hard (1988) before it became a memorial.
Galaxy Quest was far better all around than I'd anticipated.
Agreed. I saw it once in theaters and somehow huge blocks of the dialogue went immediately into long-term mental storage, such that this afternoon my mother and I were quoting it at each other. "Am I too late for Alexander's panic attack?"
For whatever reason, Truly Madly Deeply didn't click for me, though I was in my twenties (somewhat after 1990) when I watched it, but I am nearly as unromantic as one can get while still being able to function in a long-term relationship. (Agreed that Stevenson is great.)
I think the aspect of romance is less important to me than the grieving and the ghosts, but that is also a function of the way I approach a lot of stories.
