I can't fire 2016 because 2015 was so bad that I need a better year, but I would really appreciate with a cease-fire in the sudden deaths of artists and actors I like, admire, and find necessary presences in the world, especially when they are no older than my mother.

One of my co-workers and I spent our break walking up and down and appreciating his humor, charm, and refinement together. All I want right now is some free time I don't have, to sit down and watch a lot of his work.

I got the news by e-mail: "WTF Alan Rickman?!?" I knew at once what that meant and was upset.

I felt just as blindsided as I did with Bowie, only in conjunction it feels even more unfair.

Well, I just reviewed one, although I'm not sure it's the best to start with under the circumstances. I'm glad at least I saw Die Hard (1988) in his lifetime. I had just been looking forward to so much more.
