kestrell and I just watched another movie with young Gordon Gebert: 1949's Holiday Affair. It's a good movie, not a great one, mostly interesting for being a feel-good romantic comedy with Robert Mitchum as the male lead. He does a fine job, but it's certainly not his strongest suit. Wikipedia claims the studio was trying to repair his image after a marijuana possession conviction!
It's not the only atypical Mitchum we've watched lately. He had a small but significant role in 1988's Mr. North, as an incontinent philanthropist philosopher. Also not a great film, but enjoyable enough to heartily recommend. Another odd, small role in it is Harry Dean Stanton playing a Cockney butler.
