It'll look like a sort of quince marmalade--you spoon however much of it you like into hot water and mix it until the jelly dissolves. You can eat, or not eat, the cut-up fruit slivers as you desire. It's not weird to eat the fruit slivers. :)

You might also like yuja (citron) tea, which is the same deal. It's fabulous in the winter, if one likes citrus fruit "teas." I personally love eating the yuja fruit slivers with a spoon when I get to the bottom of the cup.
