When I punched terms like "Holland" and "mermaid" into Google, I got hits like the mermaid of Edam, which sounds like the same story. I want to know what this book was! (I'm still hoping someone on my friendlist will know.) I have very fond memories of the illustrations and the mermaid with her milky-green hair not quite covered by a decent woman's cap.
