I knew him only as Terry until I learned, half way through our voyage, that he was the well-known playwright. Before then I was able to win about a third of our chess games. After learning of his celebrity I never beat him again.

I am familiar with Rattigan as a playwright only through The Browning Version and The Deep Blue Sea, but I like both of those a lot. I've read about Flare Path, but never seen it.
