I was hunting out all possible versions of The Scarlet Pimpernel at one point--probably in my teens--and I know I watched Pimpernel Smith but was disappointed in it, mainly because I didn't find the guy they gave the Chauvelin expy role attractive. (With hindsight, I get that I probably wasn't supposed to find him attractive because he was a Nazi, but I think I was definitely expecting somebody more like Hans Landa.) However, I had completely forgotten about the whole archaeological subplot! That's cool as balls.;)
