I think the cinematic focus is less on retellings or revisions of the Odyssey than on films that handle similar themes as the epic; although I would not swear to this, since at the moment I'm familiar only with The Fast Runner. But maybe I'll move that we watch O Brother . . . during reading week, for the hell of it: I showed my Latin class Monty Python's Life of Brian last semester for the same reason, and that worked out fine.
