My story "Like Milkweed" has been accepted by Not One of Us. It is a story about monarch butterflies and it's not; it was inspired by a statement asakiyume made while discussing burdock and other edible plants. It might be science fiction. Watch this space.

In the meantime, send poetry to Not One of Us! The autumn issue is wide open and so is the annual one-off. Guidelines and addresses here. Any and all kinds of otherness please apply.

I am actually really happy with this story. It was written over the course of two nights between one and five in the morning, so I appreciate ashlyme and handful_ofdust serving as reality checks that it was a coherent piece of fiction and not just brainscrawl. Not One of Us #52 comes out in August or September and I will exhort people to purchase copies then!
