The stalk has withered dry, my love, though our hearts shan't decay

I have been challenged by [livejournal.com profile] cucumberseed and [livejournal.com profile] nineweaving to write something about trees, and by [personal profile] phi and [livejournal.com profile] cucumberseed to write something about the drowning of the Doves. (I said incautiously, "The river got a taste for him.") Just making a note for myself here. Arisia is going astonishingly well, considering I functionally haven't slept since Friday.

Yay! I hope you were able to sleep last night.

I love how weird history is. :-)

Good luck with the challenges! The Doves story is wonderfully bizarre; I can't wait to see what you make of it.

Wow, what a fascinating story! I’d read a sentence or two before about the Doves’ type’s watery end and wondered about the back-story; thank you very much for the link!

Very looking forward to what you can do with the drowning of the Doves!

I'll chime in as another person who had never heard of the drowning of the Doves; how marvelous.
