I tried to think of cards for a while, honestly, but I think that I've listened to the Card Trio from "Carmen" one too many times. Of course, they were doing readings with a deck of more-or-less standard playing cards. I have a pack of silver-edged cards, replicas of late 18th century French designs, though brought a little up to date. They're part of a series called "Tarot." The standard deck consists of 56 cards, 14 to a suit. 1-10 (1 instead of Ace), V (Valet, or Jack), C (Cavalier, which we don't have), D (Dame, or Queen), and R (Roi, or King). In addition, there are 21 numbered cards with various painted scenes, and one "Fou" (literally "crazy"). I'm closest to that one, not because I'm nuts (heh) but because he's a lute player with a feather in his hat. Somehow that hits close to home.
