The closest I ever got to cartooning was modifying the clothes on existing cartoon characters that were featured on my child-sized stationary. My friend Orit and I used to pass them back and forth to see who could come up with the most outrageous outfits.

I've never been able to draw as well as I would like. I have a strong sense of proportion, but my ability to draw faces is dire. I still enjoy drawing clothing periodically.

I second what swan_tower said. I'd love to see a scan of at least one so I can picture the bug-eyed style.
