And you and the corn stood tall
My poem "Hamsa" is now online at Interfictions. Written last September for
ashlyme, that excellent muse. The rest of the issue looks wonderful, autumnally blurring.
This afternoon
derspatchel and I met with the rabbi for the first time to discuss our upcoming wedding.
Happy Halloween.
This afternoon
Happy Halloween.

Happy Halloween.
I'd not thought so much on the day, but perhaps that's why I was working on one of the older songs in the not-quite-ready-for-public-consumption section of my repertory this afternoon.

You're very welcome. I'm glad it found this home.
I hope the meeting went well! Enjoy Halloween.
Thank you! I missed trick-or-treaters—none of them seemed to come down our street—but maybe next year. And today is is grey and rainy, classic November. The fire season's been put out; it's all wet ashes now until it freezes.

Thank you.
And I hope the wedding planning is making you happy.
It is generating way less stress than I have always been told wedding planning entails, so either we are doing something right or something terribly wrong. If the latter, so far I'm good with it.

I am just going to stare at you for a while.

Thank you! I am not sure how much I am going to talk publicly about getting married; it is a major change of life, but it is also something that seems very deeply personal: I am not doing it (we are not doing it) for anyone else. There may be some friendlocked contemplation.

Thank you!

Thank you! We really liked her. We'll be meeting again after we've had some time to think about questions she asked us: ceremony, logistics, rituals that matter to us, rituals that don't.

Thank you.
It was taken at the Skellig Burns Supper in January; Tiny Richardson is telling me that it no longer reflects how I look and I looked much better then, but I am trying to stuff him back into his motorcycle and just enjoy having a headshot I don't hate.

I'll certainly respect your privacy on the subject, and I in no way mean that comment as pressure for more pre-wedding posts. I very much trust you to share only as much as you feel comfortable sharing.
