Your teacher sounds like the sort of person who is a wonder and a bane and an inspiration, whether his students liked it or not. I had a few teachers in that caliber, and have tried to take time to celebrate each of them.

I am sorry the world is without him now. I am glad you were able to call him up so vividly. I feel like I was there for some of it now, and that is itself, a kind of immortality for him.
