Flowers for Algernon and Julie of the Wolves are probably the ones that puzzle me the most right now, although I'll also admit that I can't see what there is in the Anastasia Krupnik books to object to. (I hadn't thought of those in years. I think I read them mostly in late elementary and early middle school. This meme made me remember.)
