It's a silent film which uses the song cycle (sung by Brigitte Fassbaender) as a soundtrack. The plot has little to do with the poems but manages to be full bore death tinged Romanticism so that it suits the music well. If I manage to work up a post on it I'll let you know. It's strange and beautiful and heart-breaking and confusing.
