Schonberg's work is phenomenal. I first became acquainted with Pierrot Lunaire as a high school senior. The third piece was one of the ten we were to study that year for Academic Decathlon. Also on the list were, I think, Wagner's Tristan und Isolda, Barber's Adagio for Strings, Weill's Mac the Knife and works by Mahler and Varesse. It was an edifying year for AD'ers, but not one many enjoyed (I was teased for being the only one on our team to genuinely *like* the shrieking soprano in Pierrot).

I'm sorry your old papers were flooded! Did any survive at all?
