(You may be saying, "How can you have a vivid impression of it if you can't remember it?" but the thing is, as I reread your post, I was thinking, YES! Yes, this! Yes, wonderful--but I think my memories are only of what you wrote and my own imaginings.)
For one thing, it's not available through Netflix instant view, nor through my interlibrary loan circle, nor on YouTube (except for a selection of scenes with the dog, which I just discovered), so I don't see how I could have. For another, I have, still, absolutely no idea how it ends.
You definitely are fulfilling a storytelling function, atavistic or otherwise. Please continue! And even if it takes me several days to find entries and read them, I will do so.
