When a simple little nipping would suffice
And once again I have failed to pass through the hallowed halls of Logan (or any other airport, really) without attracting the attention of the TSA, specifically the kind that wants to make sure if my sweater is too tight or I have explosives down my waistband, but
derspatchel and I are now waiting at our gate with a full hour to boarding, which is the inevitable result of getting up too early for everyone's tastes in an attempt to pass for responsible travelers. I assume we'll have wi-fi at the hotel in Orlando, but I also assume we'll spending most of our time away from it, so I might as well announce a communications blackout now and then be pleasantly surprised when I have the time to answer comments. Epcot awaits.
In the meantime:
Please note that the poetry department of Strange Horizons will be closed to submissions for the month of December 2012, reopening in January 2013. Given the lateness of the announcement, any poems sent since the first of the month will be rolled over into the January slush, but please hold off on any further submissions until the new year!
And then send us all your best work, of course. We'll be waiting.

I'm the same way about travelling, I'm pure "hurry up and wait" so I end up there crazy super early.

And I really don't want to see your plane explode in midair, as it carries you away from me.

I heard her perform it live at Sanders Theatre! I was very happy.
Safe travels!
So far, so good!

Aside from the bit where we traveled for twelve hours straight if you count getting up at seven in the morning in order to make our flight—even including that bit—we're doing fine!

Thank you! First day, despite nearly infinite amounts of airplane, absolutely worth it.

I've never actually missed a flight, but given my apparently unbreakable propensity for getting pulled out of line by the TSA, I never want to cut it anything like close, either.

I can't promise I'll be a regular correspondent for the few days, but at least the internet here isn't stupid expensive! I can check my e-mail and realize my Arisia schedule completely ignored two of my requirements when I signed up in October!
(In other news, guess what I've just been doing.)
