I had a FB account for my graduate school cohort and colleagues, and I simply had to quit. Everyone was always posting their very very curated lives, extremely elaborate dishes that they have the time to cook daily, exhibitions that they visit, travels to faraway countries, etc. Nobody ever seems to work or struggle with money or go through any difficulties whatsoever. I didn't get from it a sense that I am sharing in my friends' lives the way I get here on LJ, but that I am examining window dressings of hipster stores. I understand the attraction, but it is not for me.

I am looking forward to visiting Boston!!
