But we consulted maps from earlier days

Rabbit, rabbit! Along with autumn light, the change in months has brought my contributor's copy of Niteblade #21, containing a reprint of my poem "Phersu." This is the magazine where the full content becomes available online once the issue has reached its hard-costs goal, so my job in the meantime is to point you toward a very affordable PDF and mention that this poem, like "The Coast Guard," is one of the pieces of which I am still most proud. It appeared originally in Not One of Us #42. I wrote it after the naming of Vanth. I suppose it was an early ghost poem; the title is cognate with Latin persona. It is the Etruscan for "mask."

And now I am off to help my brother with innumerable boxes, although first I believe we're bringing him pizza. Given tonight's Hot Saturday at the HFA, I do not expect to be online much before tomorrow. I still don't liveblog.

Congratulations on the reprint!

I hope the moving goes well, and that you have a lovely time at the HFA.

Same here. I reckon it's just as well.

P.S.
I'm off to see John Carter (2012) at the two dollar theatre, myself. Nothing like as signficant, and I'm prepared for disappointment, but Barsoom was too much of an influence for me not to see the movie. It can't be worse than the made-for-TV production that I saw a bit of once on late night cable.

P.P.S.
It was actually not bad at all. Not great art, but all in all a reasonably decent film, and not a terrible adaptation, either.
