Nope, and there was a film weekly (campus had access to an AFI screening center and flogged it for almost every grad-level course) -- those were just the ones that stuck out. This was separate from the course where I cocked my eyebrow at Tati and puzzled through Quatre-cent coups and Breathless -- and after all that my prose style has nothing to do with French New Wave.
