Very briefly, in college, I had in my possession the original cast recording—Berlin, 1930—of Die Dreigroschenoper, also with Lotte Lenya. Alas, this was in the days before I knew how to rip CDs. And bitterly I have regretted this ever since . . .
(That said, I still listen to the Blitzstein translation. I grew up with it; it's wired somewhere into the portion of my brain marked Kurt Weill. But I am rather coveting this recording at the moment. Max Raabe! This I have to hear.)
