I did notice the art. She credited the paintings to Michael Whelan on the intro page, although not the books from which each image had come (the last was the cover for Tanith Lee's Night's Sorceries, fifth and last in her Flat Earth series.) Isis with a dose of Freya is seriously weird. What does this mean you're supposed to do?
