My flash "The New Alexandria" is now online at Jabberwocky, which appears to be making the full transition from print to pixels with this its fifth issue. (I still appreciate the availability of paper-and-ink copies for those who like that sort of thing.) It was written in December 2007, in the middle of Hanukkah. At the time I thought it was either a philosophical statement or a poem, but it probably is a manifesto.

I want small mosses between the bricks, the latest angle of northern sunlight, someone playing a clarinet imperfectly, out of sight.

This is a manifesto behind which I can get.

It's a list of non-negotiable requirements. I want them too--we should unionize.

And "Cities in Dust" calls back memories.

Congratulations on the publication! It's a very nice manifesto, if manifesto it indeed be, and I reckon you're the one to say it is.

While aimlessly stalking working backwards through your journal (although I might have accidentally missed something), this was the first piece I came to that I didn't need far too much background to understand:

It is beautiful.
