But a bonie, westlin weaver lad has gart me change my sang

Temporarily distracted from Dickens by Scotland: I went to Boston Song Sessions' Burns Night at the Skellig. There was an "Address to a Kishke." It was pretty awesome.

The singing (yours among others) was terrific. And the grasshopper grace of the dancers was amazing.

I went to a very nice Burns Night Supper once, and was simultaneously relieved and outraged to discover that haggis tastes just like scrapple.

The Mr., English-Scots-Irish that he is, insists that this was just because it wasn't very good haggis.

"Wha staw th'kishke—
Wha amang ye staw th'kishke—
Wha staw th'kishke whan I fotched ma back?"

I'd have liked to be there.

Likewise. I forgot all about Burns Night...

Glad you were able to go and had a good time! I'd love to hear or read "Address to a Kishke."
