Wearing the snow as you would wear your hair

I do not count today as a snowpocalypse, partly because I still haven't seen any mammoths (or revelations). Nevertheless, this was most of my afternoon.

Here too!

Ouch. No mammoths in Providence, either.

Here as well. We had a ridiculous amount of snow, something approaching, I think, three foot,* and also have a ridiculous amount of driveway, so I was clearing it until after dark.

I so wish we'd had a mammoth, or at least a mastodon, make an appearance, but no such luck. It's not fair at all. I'd be content enough if you at least could have seen one and, ideally, posted a picture.

Nice hat!

*Higher than the snowblower--it ended up a matter of dragging the snow down with the shovel so that the snowblower could tear into it.

Yes, I find my arms are pleasantly sore today. There's virtue in the soreness. I felt I earned my sleep last night.

You should have seen my car... (I could, but only after I cleared off the foot of snow)

But you are wearing the Frogaboo hat! Hooray!

Thank you. It's been my winter hat since 2003. Apparently it's indestructible.

You're welcome. That's a very good thing. Might I suggest you consider breeding it, so that it can pass on such sterling qualities to future generations of hats?

I'm trying to think how long my current flat-cap-with-concealable-earflaps has endured... maybe since 2006? (I wouldn't suggest it as a suitable match for your hat--I suspect tweed and fleece aren't interfertile.)

That is an amazing - and amazingly dramatic! - picture. Snow looks so high maintenance.
