O lucem candidiore nota
Yesterday: nefas. Its sole redeeming incident was the composition of four lines of Latin hendecasyllables between midnight and four in the morning, which could arguably count as today. This afternoon I was unsuccessful in finding some secondhand classical texts, but I bought scones and read fragmentary A.E. Housman; made my doctor's appointment; walked a couple of miles; and ranted in the direction of Eric, who listened to me. Probably I will not be able to get out of helping my brother move cookware, but maybe I can avoid the file cabinets.

jonquil: I find myself wondering if the Somerton Man and L'Inconnue de la Seine got together in the afterlife.
Off to consider more hendecasyllables.
When Adam first the apple ate
He had a friend to keep him straight;
God to a wife: 'twas hopeless odds.
Friends are a deal more help than gods.
—A.E. Housman, manuscript (August 1894)

That is lovely AEH.
March came in like a jackal; may it henceforth be feline.

Why should they? They knew who they were. :)

Conversely, Gods do not always make very good friends. I sympathize with you for the day, mine, of late have not been very temperate in any sense. But there's a Spanish saying: It's good to have friends, even in hell. There's not much I can say for the month that spends most of its time in my rising sign, except it's kinda loopy, but I hope it treats you better.
Or March and I might have to have words.

Anyway, here you are, and just the fact you posted, and are up and about, walking some miles and quoting A. E. Houseman, makes me happy.

Good luck avoiding the filing cabinets.
It's snowing here, might even be beginning to stick. Is the weather doing likewise there?

Hmm, I think I've a new OTP. Can't imagine writing fanfic for them, unfortunately.

I'm rather pleased with how they came out!

I like jackals, actually. Any month that came in like Anubis would be fine by me. I think the problem is that this one came in more like a sha.

They could commiserate about the media attention!

Seriously, I thought that if a planet stayed in retrograde for more than a month, it meant the zodiac was broken.

Thank you.

You can e-mail anyway, you know. I am not the world's greatest correspondent, but I try.

I'm still here.

Thank you. I count you among them.

I got another three of poetry and two of prose done the day before yesterday, which was also good.

Nah. It snowed in flurries all Thursday, but now it's sunlit and looks as though it's contemplating spring.

I have been seeing a lot of doctors lately. On a fairly regular basis. The ridiculous bit was that I hadn't had a straightforward physical exam since 2006, although I'd probably had three or four if you put all the different appointments together . . .

I'm beginning to wonder.
