I wish my glasses had been up to the surtitles; but the opera and the companies (on stage and beside me) were fabulous.
Think of it as an excuse for opera glasses.
I'd always wanted to hear a great male soprano.
And not just a great male soprano, but a very good actor. I'm so glad he didn't have his heart set on becoming a CPA.
